Paul Hendrickson CP: Paul began his professional career at Shriner's Children's Hospital in Minneapolis as a volunteer and has been working in the Denver area for over 15 years. Paul is an ABC certified prosthetist and graduated from the University of Minnesota Prosthetic Certificate Program. Paul worked with Mark at the Denver Brace Center and expanded that practice to Colorado Springs. After working in Washington, he returned to Denver and co-founded Ascent Orthotics and Prosthetics, Inc. in 2004. Mark Hassel, CO: Mark has been providing service to the metro community as a technician and practitioner for over twenty years. After graduating from high school, Mark began his career as a technician and co- founded the Denver Brace Center. He enhanced his career by becoming an ABC certified orthotist and recently owned and operated Colorado Orthotics Labs. Mark is an outstanding fabricator of orthotic devices, which is second only to his skills as a practitioner. Mark recently became a partner of Ascent Orthotics and Prosthetics, Inc. Mark has a comprehensive knowledge of design and fitting of orthotics and extensive experience with pediatrics. He has worked extensively on the development over the pre- preg composite program allowing the staff to design and custom fabricate orthoses using the latest technology available in the industry. Sandra van Damme PT: Sandra was born and raised in the Netherlands, and complete PT school at the Paramedic Academy 'The Uithof' in Utrecht in 1986. She moved to Norfolk, VA in 1987 to work in the rehabilitation department of Norfolk General Hospital, which gave the opportunity to begin her work with children. She has worked in private practice, at a school for Deaf and Blind Children, in Early Intervention Programs and in pediatric home care. She completed her NDT certification in 1992. She started working in a hippotherapy program (using horses for therapy) and completed her Hippotherapy Level 1 training in 2005. Sandra was first introduced to the Hart Walker in September 2005, when one of her clients brought in a donated walker. She researched getting more walkers, and discovered that the closest facilities were located in California and Texas. Karin Zimmermann PT: Karin was born and raised in the Netherlands, and graduated from Physical Therapy School in Groningen in 1990. She was first exposed to pediatric rehabilitation following PT school, which triggered her interest in working with a pediatric population. She moved to the United States in 1991 and initially worked at an Easter Seals Facility in Georgia. After moving to Colorado, she worked at Mercy Medical Center and National Jewish Hospital. Since then, she has worked for numerous years in the school system and at an out- patient rehabilitation center for The Children's Hospital. In 1996, she completed the pediatric NDT course and currently works with Ascent Therapy Clinics and Wellness Centers and Ascent Orthotics and Prosthetics as a Physical Therapy consultant for the Hart Walker Program.
